It’s Father’s Day weekend. This week’s Family Friday recipe comes from my cousin Lana Hardin Wright who is sharing her Daddy’s French Toast and. Her daddy was my mama’s brother, my Uncle Jerry. Lana said that her favorite memory of her daddy was getting up on Sunday mornings to his French Toast. She said he would make it along with little smokes for all five of the kids and they all would be at the table with their forks in hand. She makes it now for her grandson Austin. Austin’s said his favorite thing about Daddy’s French Toast is the powdered sugar and that he only knows how to eat it so funny.
Love to see family’s caring on family tradition in the kitchens and passing it on down the line.

Happy Father’s day. Kisses blown up to the dad’s above.

Daddy’s French Toast

1 cup sugar
¼ cup cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla
6 eggs
2 ½ cups milk

Whisk all together. You can use any bread slices you like. Place bread slices into mixture and let them soak up egg mixture for a few seconds, and then carefully turn to coat the other side.

Transfer bread slices to a pre heated griddle until golden brown. Turn and brown the other side.

Dust with powdered sugar.
